Yes you can put things on the sign. Like another sign or swear words.
And put stuff through the slot.

There's even a hole in the back so you can see what you've just slotted in the front for some reason.

Burpo the work experience kid did suggest that it could be used as a TV unit in an emergency but that seems like one hell of an emergency to us, so we're going with the theory that all mailboxes will look like this in around 2036 and you can leave a nice picture on the sign for your postie.
(Or something nasty if they keep popping in really big dog turds via the front slot.)
What's it worth? Well lets say $250 for a taste of the future. A bargain at half the price!
